We’re so excited by this amazing birthday party favor we just had to share! Brenda, who blogs about her party creations on thejarjouras, made 28 of these (!) Stick Hobby Horses for her son’s country-western themed party, starting from just a medium-sized sock. They’re so easy to make—each one took about 45 minutes—you could create a bunch for your kid’s birthday party (grownup and kiddo guests alike will certainly be thrilled to take one home) or take it easy and do just one for the aspiring cowboy or cowgirl in your home.
Details such as the felt eyes and ears and yarn mane make this super cute decor for the youngest child’s room.
As a party gift, the horses can become an activity too. Just have the kiddos saddle up and create a steeple chase in the yard.
Working with even the most basic of staple materials, it’s easy to customize your own horse too! For older kiddos, you can swap the felt for fun buttons for the eyes. Or try out different fabrics too! Check out the full tutorial on the Chickabug’s blog.
