We look forward to the One Million Pillowcase Challenge  from the folks at American Patchwork & Quilting. The great thing about this challenge is that it benefits so many local causes.

We have had an opportunity to see just how much these pillowcases mean to children who receive them through our involvement with Mary Bridge’s Children’s hospital at the Sewing and Stitchery Expo. The stories behind some of the donated pillow cases are so touching. Read more here.

AllPeopleQuilt.com offers free patterns for pillowcases. They asked people to vote for their favorite of the free patterns on a special Pinterest board and today you get to see the winning pattern recreated on our blog and many others.

We collaborated with our friends at FreeSpirit fabrics and created this version of the Train Pillowcase.  Did you know you could use multi color threads for applique? We love the cute pattern the thread creates around the train cars.
